Belinda grew up in Chicago, Illinois with four brothers. She enjoyed reading, writing, playing games, and cooking with her mom. Belinda and her husband Charles raised four daughters; three of which were born within thirty-nine months! Belinda enjoyed writing growing up but the desire to write grew as she began raising her own children. Her first writings were to encourage her daughters to read and during this time she wrote this short story.
